Luminous emerged as Ellen’s fascination with light grew, not only in how it appears in a landscape, but in how it transforms the atmosphere of a room, bringing joy or arousing emotion.

The paintings become less about the scene and more about capturing the mood. When the sky, the water, and the horizon seem to sparkle in the daylight or glow under the moon, it creates a feeling.
