It was time to be still. Ellen was 34 years old and she made a decision. By the time she was 35 she would have a painting up on the wall. And she did.

​

The journey began for Ellen as a child, painting in water color, sketching trees in pencil, a watermill in pen and ink. Artwork was an expression of her passion for life until she got married, had a child and started running her own business.

 

Ellen was dedicated to all her endeavors.

 

Until one day she realized she had no time for herself and she didn't have an understanding of stillness.

Ellen had convinced herself that creativity in business and love for family and community would hold her up, thinking they were the only things she needed to feed her soul. 

 

She had not painted in 15 years. 

​

The Journey is a collection of work spanning decades. Early paintings, bold with color and feeling, moving over time toward something quieter, more layered, more specific in its dimension of light. The texture deepens. The palette settles.

Ellen continues to live her passion and her soul's purpose in everything she does and in the atmosphere her work creates.
