Stillness In Stone

Ellen Kalmenson's original Buddha Art painting, Stillness In Stone explores the quiet presence found within moments of stillness. There is something immediately calming about the closed eyes of Stillness In Stone. The Buddha fills the canvas, yet the expression is neither distant nor imposing. Soft light moves across the face, revealing the texture and subtle variations of bronze, gray and ivory that make the figure appear almost carved from stone.

You may begin by looking at the Buddha, but after a while the experience becomes less about what you see. The quiet expression asks nothing of you. It simply remains an invitation to stay for a moment and notice what happens when there is nothing you need to do.

This Wall Art painting quietly becomes a part of the way the room is experienced.
